Be Kind To Yourself

Being Kind To Yourself Is Good!

Life is busy, whether it's work, school, taking care of family or spending time with friends, there is always a endless amount of things to do. The effort put into your duties is always intentional and requires you to invest your time and skills. Why not be intentional by being good to yourself?

Being Kind To Yourself Is Simple!

You cannot pour from an empty cup. It is very hard to invest in others if you do not have the energy to do so. It is alright to take care of yourself, you can do selfless acts of kindness for others without neglecting yourself. Your health and wellness matters, you are planted in the earth to be healthy, happy and successful. Take time for yourself to regain strength and nourishment in your mind, body and spirit. The more energy and resources you give out, is the more you need to be replenished. They are so many people who are good givers, but are not good receivers. Balance is a necessary tool for life.

A Personal Note:

I can identify with being a good giver but not a good receiver. I love to help others, whether it's in my community or my household. I get carried away at times, to the point of over working myself. There are a few times where someone offered to carry the bags that I was carrying. I would decline their help, even though I really wanted help. Why did I refuse help even when I really need it? As simple as this sound, I realized that I don't need to put on this strong facade all the time. Yes, I have people that look up to me and depend on me, but I have to make sure that I am taking time to accept and receive the help that I need. I have to be a good giver and a good receiver at the same time. I am learning to speak up more in my household when I need help with chores.

Today, while I was at the hospital to get a lab test done, the receptionist offered to give me free parking. This was out of the ordinary, but I accepted her kindness and thanked her. When I was done with my exam, a kind stranger helped me to back out a tight parking space. I decided to get a breakfast beverage at a local shop, my car somehow got stuck on the island. The friendly manager came out of the shop to help me get my car out. What is my point of telling this story? My point is that everyone needs help. No matter how capable and strong you think you are, we are all in need of help sometimes. Be sure to take care of yourself and be in tuned to your needs. Today, I am thankful for the kindness of strangers that helped me to start my day. Also, be sure to pray for or check on the people who you may think do not need help. Sometimes, the people who may appear to be the strongest are the ones that may need help the most. May you be planted in the earth with strength, good health and happiness. Wishing you good health and happiness always!

Seasons Change

Seasons Change

Just like mother nature changes in seasons, so does life. Even though we may love summer, it can't last forever. Fall is always around the corner, we prepare ourselves and our homes for the changes in seasons. As our earth is always changing and evolving, the seasons of life is always changing and evolving. As we age we are learning new things about ourselves. Our bodies are starting to change and we are becoming more  aware of our health. Our extracurricular activities may change, our friendship circles and our relationships may also change.

None of these things I've mentioned are bad things. There is just a natural progression and evolution that takes place with life. If I had the power to stop time I would stop it at one of my favorite moments. That moment would have to be a moment where I was smiling, laughing and having fun with loved ones. However, since I don't have the power to stop time, I am glad that I still have my memories. That's it! Life may change, but my wonderful memories remain, my memories are like treasures that are kept in a bank account for safe keeping. I get to keep my memories and evolve into a new journey at the same time. I am preparing myself for whatever God has for me, I know that the journey up ahead will be a blessed one. I am willing to put in the work and trust God to do the rest. Seasons change but God has gone ahead to prepare the way, I am sure of this.

Wishing you good health and happiness always!

You are Approved and Chosen by God

Do you have a dream?

What is that dream?

What vision has God given to you?

All of us have that special dream inside of us that makes us special and unique.
God gave that vision, that dream and that inspiration to each of us. It doesn't matter how big and how small it is, it is inside of us for a reason. I believe that God makes no mistakes. That spark that he started in us he desires to see it blossom and grow to it's full potential. That dream is our ministry. We all have that special thing, that we would do even if we were not getting paid to do it. That ministry is in our hearts for a reason. God is faithful and he sees the passion and the compassion that we have in our hearts. The scripture says that: He who have begun a good work in us is faithful to see it to the end. Your work and your love for what you do will not go unnoticed or unrewarded. The path may not be easy but it will be worth it. Not everyone will understand our dreams and that's alright. Our passion and dreams are blessed and divinely ordered, stay on course and be encouraged.

Seeking People's Approval Is Were Dreams Go To Die!

Everyone wants to be loved and accepted by others, however, if we are not careful we will allow others to talk us out of our dreams. The life of our dreams does not depend on the approval or disapproval of others. When God placed that ministry in our hearts he gave us his approval. God love us so much that he would choose us to carry the dream, and then gave us his approval to carryout that dream into the world. That dream and that passion that we have for what we do is God choosing us. Isn't that a wonderful thought to know that we are chosen by God? Once we wrap our heads around the concept that we are chosen by God, there is no second guessing our selves. Most importantly, we no longer feel the need to seek approval from other people. We are approved and chosen by God, therefore it is our right to walk forward with confidence with what he has placed in us.

On a personal note,

I knew that my ability to write and pour my heart out on paper, was one of the special gifts that God placed inside of me. However, I did not always embrace my special ability for writing. I struggled with accepting my talent, and I also struggled with what others thought about my talent. I felt miserable when I tried to deny my passion, I felt like apart of me was missing. Some of the people that I surrounded myself with could not understand my desire to write. That experience left me feeling like: maybe there was something wrong with me. Over time after growing spiritually, I realize that God chose me and approved me. The dreams and passion he has placed in me is because he loves me. Since I have embraced my dreams, God has been surrounding me with like minded people. God has shown me that I am not alone. He is positioning me around others, that will help cultivate the plans he has for me. I am staying on this journey because I know that he is faithful to complete what he has started in me. God is faithful to complete the dreams that he started in you also. Be encouraged! Wishing you good health and happiness!
